Kiriwood Japanese BUTSUDAN (portable Shrine) with swinging doors, contains a Buddhist deity "KoBo TAshi" holding a scroll in his left hand, seated on an elevated platform with traces of polychrome on figure & inside the shrine.Some wear as to be expected with a wooden shrine of this age. Circa: late Edo, 1800-1868. Height of shrine is 8 3/8 inches or 21 cms. x 8 3/8" (21 cms.) x 5.25" or 13 cms. Dimensions of deity are 4 5/8" or 12 cms x 3 7/8" or 9.9 cms x 2 5/8" or 7 cms.
