| Very attractive earthenware Vietnamese JAR from a old woman potter in a small village famous for its pottery near Hoi Anh (mid-coast of Vietnam) with a light yellowish-brown glaze and impressed coin design on the shoulder! This jar is good size, 9.25 inches x 9. 25 inches or 23.5 cms. x 23.5 cms. There are two small chips which are not noticeable on the rim. This would make a wonderful "piggy bank" for the child or grandchild in your family! This design originally came from China and it was believed to be propricious for those who wanted to save money! This was the potter's "lucky jar," are she was very reluctant to part with it! Circa: 1970's. | ||
