Carl Kempe Chinese porcelain Vase, # 699 in the shape of a "Ts'un" or "Zun" (a prototype of arachaic bronze vessels) Incised "an hua" (or hidden treasure) design of double dragons chasing the flaming pearl in 3 different sets and wave patterns at the base. Bluish tinted glaze with a four character mark of "Yuan Ho" nien chih in underglaze blue in a double circle on base. Provenance: Bluett & Sons, London. (sticker on base) with a "CK # 699" yellow & red collection label on base. Purchased at Sotheby's in Paris, France, Lot # 94. Condition is good overall, some fritting to the rim, and some losses on several of the six bands. Ming Dynasty, 16th Century. Height 8 3/8 inches (21.2 cms) diameter 5 7/8 inches (15 cms.)
