Chinese CHIZOU white slip decorated stonewear EWER, Northern SONG Dynasty with its trumpet neck, handle and spout covered with a white clay slip beneath a colorless glaze, the rim now bound with copper, the canted foot finished with a recessed base. Provenance: Dr. Marvin & Pat Gordon of San Francisco, purchased @ Bonhams & Butterfields, Lot 8259, 15 December 2009. Condition is almost perfect except for "staining" and a very slight loss of glaze (10%) on the tip of one section of the spout (see pixs) and a few isolated glaze bursts. There is no evidence of cracks, chips repairs or restorations! Dimensions: Height is 9.75 inches or (25 cms.) and the diameter of the base is 2 5/8 of an inch or 6.6 cms. and the diameter of the rim is 3.5 inches or 8.7 cms.
