Red Raku Chawan by Sasaki Shoraku

Red Raku chawan or tea bowl by Sasaki Shoraku. It is assumed, that the second Shoraku produced the piece, yet many tea utensil stores, dealers, and shops do not make the distinction thus making it difficult to know which Shoraku produced the work. Currently the Sasaki family has expanded and several kilns in Kameoka, near the outskirts of Kyoto are continuing the art of producing tea utensils today.

The piece comes with an original yellow cloth with the stamp by Shoraku, a paper explaining about the Raku ware, and a box with the artist's inscription and signature.

Height: 3.5" Diameter: 4.75"
