Mizusashi or water container used in the way of tea done in the distinct blue and white porcelain known as sometsuke. The central body contains a view in the preference of the literati and motifs based on Chinese design. The work is signed by Heian Shuho. Shuho is known for doing porcelain wares in Kyoto, but not much is known about when Shuho was active or the artist's master or disciple. Age: 20th century Height: 6" Diameter: 5.5" |
