This tetsubin is modeled after a section of a bamboo trunk where a branch was trimmed off. It bears the seal and signature of the maker, Tenyudo. Tenyudo was one of the most reknowned makers of iron tetsubin in the Nanbu region, present day Iwate prefecture. The Nanbu region was and is still home to many artists who produced highly sought after tetsubin that emerge from nature’s many forms.
