Ohi Toshio (1958-) Born as the son of the noted family, Ohi Chozaemon in Kanazawa, Ishikawa prefecture. The Ohi family for generations have produced traditional Japanese tea ceramics in the preferences of tea masters from the Urasenke tradition and the lords that controlled the domain of Kaga. Additionally, the family developed new glazes and styles during the Meiji period to direct the tradition towards the new age of modernism.

The bowl is retain the traditional shape of tea bowls in the raku category. However, Ohi wares use the traditional amber glaze, this work in contrast simply uses a clear glaze.

Ohi Toshio is known for his combination of traditional glazes or styles with modern expressions or insiprations from nature.

As of the moment, the tea bowl does not have a tomobako, a box can be requested once the bowl is purchased.
