Kyoto Ware Korai Ido Chawan

Ido is, among all of the important tea bowls, one of the key shapes often seen in many tea gatherings. The term Ido originates from the time when these bowls were once used as daily ware in Korea during the 16th century and potters who immigrated to Japan after Hideyoshi's campaign in the 1580-1590 period created these bowls which strongly touched the aesthetic tastes of the ruling daimyos.

This chawan embodies the traditional structure and glaze of an ido chawan and can be used for everyday use to okeiko.
