In 1828, Kirk introduced a highly ornate which he called "Repouss√©". Kirk's repouss√© also inspired other Baltimore silver maker to create pattern in the same highly ornate style. It was largely due to Samuel Kirk that Baltimore became the center of the American repouss√© silver.
