This is a magnificent sterling silver serving spoon from Kirk & Son in beautiful fine repoussé depicting detailed berries, grapes, and flowers throughout. This unique design is one of the signatures style of Kirk and Son, a silver-maker company founded by Samuel Kirk in Baltimore in 1815. In 1828, Kirk introduced a highly ornate which he called "Repoussé". Kirk's repoussé also inspired other Baltimore silver maker to create pattern in the same highly ornate style. It was largely due to Samuel Kirk that Baltimore became the center of the American repoussé silver. This beautiful Kirk & Son sterling silver serving spoon measures 9 inches (23 cm) in length and weighs 124 grams. It is indeed an exclusive addition to your sterling silver flatware collection.
