This is a magnificent pair of sterling silver creamer and sugar bowl by Kirk & Son in beautiful fine floral repoussé depicting Zeus-Ammon with his ram horns on the creamer. This unique repoussé design is one of the signature style of Kirk and Son, a silver-maker company founded by Samuel Kirk in Baltimore in 1815. In 1828, Kirk introduced a highly ornate which he called "Repoussé". Kirk's repoussé also inspired other Baltimore silver maker to create pattern in the same highly ornate style. It was largely due to Samuel Kirk that Baltimore became the center of the American repoussé silver. This beautiful pair of Kirk & Son sterling silver creamer and sugar bowl is indeed an exclusive addition to your silver vertu collection.
