Offered is a vintage Coca-Cola tin tray in excellent condition portraying Bobby Jones, an American golfer, a lawyer by profession, winner of 13 golfing championships, and the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974, 1958, and 1997 in the golfing suits of that era.
This unique design was created by a widely distinguished illustrator, Fred Mizen (1885-1965), who was also known for his executions of numerous art subjects used in the advertising and promotions of Coca-Cola in the 1920s and 1930s.
The American Art Works (AAW), best-known for its popular Coca-Cola trays was the advertising agency for many of Coca-Cola trays including this one. The AAW made at least 24 different full-sized Coke trays and vast numbers of advertising novelties.
This one-of-a-kind design is one of the signature trays of Coca-Cola company of the mid 20s.
It is made of tin metal, has some minor shallow dims due to its age, measures 33.5 cm (13.2 inches) by 27 cm (10.6 inches), and weighs 330 grams.
