Alfred Dubucand (1828-1894) was a French proficient animalier sculptor, producing extremely well modeled groups of animals and equestrian subjects. His casts have exceptional detail and finish with impressive patinas. His works were often juried into the annual Salon art exhibition in Paris where he contributed works over the course of his career.
This marvelous bronze statue of Alfred Dubucand is in excellent condition with light wear to marble commensurate with age.
