The assassination of Julius Caesar was the result of a conspiracy by many Roman senators. Led by Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus, they stabbed Julius Caesar to death in a location adjacent to the Theatre of Pompey on the Ides of March, 44 BC.
This stunning statue depicting this historical event is embellished throughout with magnificent precious jewels to emphasize the design of the era. The precise description of the jewels are 5 carat star sapphire (light blue stone) on the base and left shield in addition to smaller ones decorated on the piece, bright red ruby stone, cabochon sapphire (dark blue stone) and numerous old cut diamonds, all enhanced throughout this wonderful antique statue. Furthermore, gilt accents are visible on selected sections of this unique artwork.
