Offered is an antique silver-mounted English percussion conversion pistol by Freeman belonging to the second part of the 18th century, with the following features:
3 1/2 inch .44 caliber cannon screw barrel with private view and proof proof marks for export. Rounded box lock action converted to percussion. London engraved on the right side in a banner within military motifs, the opposite side engraved Freeman in a banner within scrollwork. Engraved tang and trigger guard bow. Walnut grip with silver wire scroll and shell inlays; silver grotesque mask butt cap.
Condition: Fine. Bright metal with clear proof marks and sharp engraving. Strong action. Excellent grip with minor pieces of absent silver wire inlays.
