Pair of Victorian Brass "Shoes" Circa. 1880. Each shoe measures 4 7/8 inches wide, 2 3/4 inches high and 1 inch deep. The "box" measures 1 7/8 inches wide, 1 inch high, and 1 1/2 inches deep. Perfect for small match boxes. During Victorian times, these miniature "shoes" were given to newly married couples (one shoe for him, one shoe for her) in a wish of good luck. Now, we use them to hold small match boxes, paper clips or stamps. Wonderfully decorative, in excellent condition.
