| Giovanni Volpato (1733 - 1803) "Loggia de Rafaele nel Vaticano" Circa. 1776 Italy This engraving depicts one of the lunettes. Hand-colored in gouache and watercolor. Copper engraved by hand. It depicts pink and plum colored ribbons, two bows at center suspended flowers and fruits, including pomegranets, pineapples and berries with two different birds at each end. Beautifully framed by hand with french matte and gold leaf frame. The artwork is semi-circular and measures 7 inches high x 13 1/2 inches wide. The frame measures 11 1/2 inches high x 18 1/2 inches wide. In excellent original condition. Colors and execution are sublime. | ||||||||
