| Portrait of the Princess Hilda Von Den De Rohan d'Harcourt by her son, the Prince Childe de Rohan d'Harcourt Circa. 1840 Denmark. An extraordinary tribute by a son to his royal mother. Mixed media. The center of the work is an oil on board portrait, measuring only 2 1/4 inches high x 1 1/2 inches wide, signed by the artist. The back of the work is signed and dedicated by the artist. The portrait is mounted on a narrow resin board, and surrounded by an antique metal frame. All this is further mounted on a hand-pained gold background. The only damage to this work is the lower right hand corner of the outer wood frame. Original glass. In excellent original condition.
