| The execution, domestic Dutch scene, and hardware on this piece (though customarily referred to as Napoleonic Prisoner of War Art) could also be of commercial or religious endeavor. The ambitious artistic shape, fragile nature and age of this piece is extraordinary. The Dutch and French prisoners' straw work sold in prison markets, enabling a means of social inner action and monetary benefit. This art form was also practiced in the East and Europe, becoming in vogue in the seventeenth century. There is a separation on corner, and minor areas of missing material at the bottom of the splayed legs. One tiny perfume is damaged. Both tiny keys are present. It measures 5 1/2 inches in width, 3 3/4 inches in depth, and 4 1/4 inches in height. | ||||||||||||||
