A Hungarian 16th Century Bronze Mace

The mace has seventeen flanges attached to a bronze strapping and a later carved wooden shaft. The attached cap has an inlaid design. There is one flange missing, and shows an area of widening where the head is attached to the bronze shaft portion. Total length of mace head and collar is 7 inches, with the wooden shaft 17 inches. The mace head is 3 inches wide, and weighs approximately 2 lbs. with the wooden shaft. There is possible relativeness to the Ottoman Turks who were driven out of Hungary in the late 1600's.
