Each priest figure is holding one of the 12 astrological zodiac animals, dating to the early Ming Dynasty (ca. 1400-1500 A.D.). Special attention was paid by the artist to minute details of each animal and fine colors of the flowing robes and hats the priests are wearing. All these figures were excavated from the same tomb.
