An exceptionally fine black lacquered wooden SHAN STATE BUDHHA, 19th Century, with very high quality gilding. The Buddha is in the subduing Mara position and sitting on a very high stepped throne. Size: height 23" x width 9" at base x depth 7". Very good condition, with a fissure on the base due to the considerable age.

Exceptionally large and serene lacquer antique Buddha dressed in royal robes, intricately inlaid with inset flat glass/mirror mosaics backed with colored foil and further decorated with moulded relief work forming beautiful spirals. The Buddha is seated in "bhumisparshamudra" (subduing Mara); his left hand rests palm upward, on his lap, and the right hand rests on his right knee, calling the Earth to witness...

Magnificent and rare AVA 3-Seasons Bronze Buddha subduing Mara with serene and calm expression, downcast eyes. Has an exceptional aura and superb red/gold patina. Good condition, size: H. 78 cm x W. 47 cm. x D. 36 cm.

A very rare Giant Size Dry Lacquer Buddha Head on a custom made base (can be removed), Shan State, Burma, 19th Century. Very nice smooth Patina, some inconsequential wear, especially to individual hair curls, but excellent overall condition as shown. The Ushnisha or Flame on the top of the head is removable and most likely from a later date as is typical of such venerated Buddha images. Guaranteed 19th Century.
