Rare Chinese Archaic Nephrite Jade Carving of a Mythological Animal. The head turned back shows barred teeth, wing like structures are attached to the haunches. The very unusual tail with fine concentric rings twists and spirals into a circle. The feet rest on a sleigh-like base. Fine late 18th Century specimen, smooth jade, good condition.
