A MING SWATOW (ca. 1625) Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Plate with thick, shiny glaze, depicting a Phoenix in the center medallion surrounded by a border featuring auspicious symbols. The back side of the plate also has some decor. There are a few firing imperfections on the front and back side (unglazed well/spots) as shown in the photograph and some kiln sand/grit deposit on the back base of the plate, which is common in Ming ware and a sign of authenticity...

Unusual KANGXI (1662-1722) hand painted blue and white porcelain plate depicting 4 geese (2 in a pond, 2 flying) with plants and insects. The border has 6 flower medallions and a coin pattern. The back side of the plate also has some decor as well as a double Kangxi circle and a mirror symbol inside. Condition: good overall, some inconsequential rim chips/fritting and hairline on the back side. Size: 8 3/4" (21.5 cm.) diameter.

A superior example of a Ming Dynasty blue and white Swatow porcelain plate which dates from the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1619). The exterior depicts chrysanthemum and prunus flowers, whereas the inside of the bowl has a single flower in the well and a fine diaper border around the rim.
