Very handsome GANDHARA stucco head sculpture of a young man, quite possibly of Alexander the Great. Stucco, good condition overall, some minor chips and part of back side missing as seen in photographs. Size: H. 1.5" (4 cm.). Rare. Here again, the idealized style is reminiscent of Greek Hellenistic sculpture which strongly influenced the Buddhist imagery of Central Asia and in particular of Gandharan artists.
