An attractive small Chinese archaic nephrite jade carving of a mythological beast. The head has barred teeth and is turned to look backward over it's haunches to which are attached wing-like structures. The bushy tail twists and spirals in a circle and it's feet repose on a sleigh-like pierced base. Finest condition, Size: L. 7 cm x 4.75 cm

Rare Chinese Archaic Nephrite Jade Carving of a Mythological Animal. The head turned back shows barred teeth, wing like structures are attached to the haunches. The very unusual tail with fine concentric rings twists and spirals into a circle. The feet rest on a sleigh-like base. Fine late 18th Century specimen, smooth jade, good condition. Size 7cm x 4.75cm, very nice collectors item!
