Slender Silver/Paktong Opium Pipe, QING Dynasty, China
Rare and slender Silver/Paktong Opium Pipe, QING Dynasty. The damper/bowl is in the shape of a poppy/opium bulb and is held by a hand. This hand holding the bulb/damper has a very distinct double fish engraved on it's base which in Feng Shui is the symbol of wealth, abundance and attracting good luck (see photograph #4). Good condition, high silver content. Length 32.5 cm. 19th Century, China. A very attractive custom made wooden stand as shown in photograph # 2 comes with this opium pipe (included).
