Aweidah Gallery is pleased to offer this extremely rare Roman painted pottery wine amphora known by the Jerusalem pottery (PSEUDO -NABATAEAN) dating to the first Century AD. They became known as Pseudo-Nabataean Ware because of their resemblance to the fine Nabataean painted wares which are characteristic to the Nabataeans. Some vessels were indistinguishable from the real Nabataean painted Ware The amphora is beautifully made in a pear-shaped body adorned with six branches all around the body painted in reddish/brown color, two handles on the shoulders and a short cylindrical shaped neck.
Measurements: Height: 25 cm - Diameter: 15 cm
