You are considering a beautiful Israelite Iron Age painted terracotta head of the fertility goddess Astarte, dating to the Iron Age II: 1000-586 BC.

The head with broad face with large almond shaped eyes. The hairstyle, influenced by the Egyptian styl
Terracotta figurines of Astarte (Ashtoret), were prominent in daily Israelite religious practice, and were worshiped probably by women. They have been excavated in Judean sites, particularly in Jerusalem, from where the finest examples come, dating mostly to the eighth and seventh centuries BCE.

Measurements: Height: 5.5 cm - Width: 4 cm - Height on stand: 11.5 cm

Condition: Very good condition as found
