$175.00

This is a 19th qalamdan or ink and quill holder. The patina on this case is quite rich, I have made no attempt to clean this. It measures 9 1/2" long, and the attached inkpot is approximately 1 1/2" square. A very substantial piece, it weighs nearly a pound! Scribes used to tuck these cases into their belts, and the inkpots kept them from slipping through. It's floral design appears to be Turkish. A unique and historical item for your desk, or collection.

Meticulously hand carved Indo Persian Samovar. Made of silver coin metal alloy. This particular samovar has some amazingly fine foliate detail featuring flowers and leaves with a serpent handle, and fancy ornamental openwork at the base. There is a central chamber for hot coals, and a separate secondary lid which covers it. It is in very good condition. This appears to be unused and the interior silvering is clean and intact. Measuring 11 " tall, 5" in diameter, and 9" from handle to spout, and weighing a little over 2.25 pounds before packing. This is estimated to be made in Central Asia 40 to 60 years ago.

This unique pot has amazing detail and texture to it's carved Persian design. The floral trefoil design across the belly is a typical Persian theme popular during the Qajar (Victorian) period. There is also a floral band near the top, and the bottom is ringed in alternating flower and shield medallions. This amazing 19th century pot is free of dents, but does have a uniformly "bumpy' feeling to it. The opening is slightly off round, which is detected by feel. only. Measuring 8" (20cm) across, by 10.4" (26cm) tall, it weighs over 2 pounds (1 Kilo) before packing.
