A very unusual and collectible piece made of a native coin metal alloy referred to as gillet. This tribal headdress was made for a young Turkoman bride. The metal components are applied over a base made from an old Afghan Suzani. Set with carnelian, this piece features embossed stylized metal plates sewn onto the base. There is sort of a decorated flower spike on top with dangles and bells. It has a little crinkle at the base, but is barely noticeable unless it's pointed out. Colorful metal tassels set with carnelians fringe the face, and there is a Suzani "tail" embellished with embossed metal plates, and tasselled medallions, with white beaded black fringe on the edges.

Moroccan brass Koran box ca. 1960's, it has applied silver metal and bezel set stones which appear to be coral and lapis. There is a series of Arabic numbers on the back, which I believe to be a numerology formula. The same series of numbers is repeated on the curved lid. The brass and applied metal features profuse foliate etching. It has a braided strap, which may or may not be original.
This unique box measure 5.5" across by 6" tall, and is 1.25" thick and weighs 1.5 pounds.

This is a very graceful and beautiful Yemeni dagger. It measures 13" long and weighs nearly a pound. The handle has two pounded coins affixed, and the surface has a nubby texture to it. I believe it to be some sort of horn. The leather sheath is extensively embellished with hand worked silver. This was made approximately 1880-1920 for ceremonial dress use, so the blade is unsharpened. There are minor corrosion spots on the blade.

The saddle on the camel is a hinged lid, unfortunately, the hinge is broken, and the glass liner is missing. The price reflects these conditions. Circa 1890, it measures 9.5" long, by 5.5" tall, by 4" wide, and weighs about 2.5 pounds. This style of inkwell was made in two sizes, this is the larger sized model.
