| This is a very simple copper aftaba or pitcher embellished with four medallions, three with a rose theme, and the fourth, under the spout, a small tree. There is dovetailing evident across the belly where the top and bottom were joined. The spout has a slightly sharper bend from being bumped. At some point there was a silver wash applied, which has mostly worn away. This style of carving is more associated with Afghanistan rather than Iran. The pot measures 13.75" tall by 5.25" diameter and 8.5" from handle to spout and weighs a little over 3 pounds. | ||
