Traditional Ghalamzani (Carved Persian Metalwork) design. One side has a scene from daily life with cooking and harvest activities. The other side has a herd of camels with tents in the background across the belly, a typical Iranian theme popular since the Qajar (Victorian) era. Copper is carved in relief with a scalpel or pen-like tool. This particular vase has some fine detail, accented in tin. There are small medallion repeats around the upper belly featuring finely etched exotic birds. The lid is ringed in a foliate design with floral lobes extending to the finial. The cast handle is riveted at the top with a turned wood grip. The final photo shows it paired with a compatible basin item # 1117341. Measuring 12" to the top of the handle, and 10" in diameter, with a spread of 14" to the end of the spout. The opening is 4.75" across and weighs nearly 4 pounds before packing.. This piece is estimated to be made in Iran 100 years ago.
