| This tribal Egyptian silver bracelet is a very unusual piece. The bracelet itself dates back to the turn of the 20th century when silver, rather than alloy was used. It was refashioned into a bowl by adding the bottom plate around 1960. Egyptian silver is normally 90% pure, and this does have a hallmark on the bottom, which is what was used for dating it. The bottom plate is decorated in a traditional Mamluk inspired foliate design. This measures 4 .5 by 4 inches across, and is a little over .5" tall, and weighs nearly four ounces. This would make a fabulous change tray for your dresser. | ||
