Moche  Mollusk Vessel

An outstanding Moche I Mollusk stirrup vessel from Peru, ca. 300 – 100 BC. This delicate vessel is 7-1/2” high and 6” wide, painted overall in cream, with reddish-brown accent stripes in the incised grooves. This is a representation of the Spondylus shell, the most highly prized shell throughout Mesoamerican cultures. Perfect condition.
