Narino Ceremonial vessel

An exquisite ceremonial vessel from the Narino Highlands of Colombia, Capuli cultural complex, ca. 850 – 1500 AD. The bowl has a 6-3/4” diameter and is supported on seven hollow mammiform legs containing rattles, each of which extends an inch beyond the rim. Beautifully decorated with black on cream resist designs and a red wash overlay. A truly rare specimen in perfect condition.
