A choice Moche III marine motif bottle from Peru, ca. 200 – 450 AD. This superb polychrome vessel is 7-3/4” high and features two panels depicting a heron or egret attacking a crustacean. The scenes are painted in rare purple and red against the orange slip. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits and trails. Museum deaccession. |
