A lovely Maya polychrome bowl from the La Libertad area of El Salvador, ca. 400 – 800 AD. It is 5-1/2” in diameter and is decorated with diamond shaped floral designs that appear to grow out of the central disk on the base. In addition, there are three design bands encircling the rim. A rare type in excellent condition, good mineral deposits. Cf. Guzman “Museo Nacional de Antropologia”, page 46. |
