| An excellent Moche IV Portrait head from Peru, ca. 450 – 550 AD. This eerie example is 7-1/2” high and depicts an ancestor in skull form. The jutting jaws display teeth and the eyes are deeply sunken into the head. He is adorned with a fancy headdress and ear plugs, with all of the details enhanced with black and white pigment.
