A superb Chontal maskette, 3-1/2" wide, 2-5/8" high. It is carved from a mottled greenstone, is nicely polished and has biconical perforations in the ears. In excellent condition, showing good deposits. Comes with display case. The Chontal are a Mayan cultural group from the Tabasco region of southern Mexico, ca. 250 - 700 AD. |
