| A fine Maya Monkey Bowl from El Salvador, ca. 600 - 800 AD. It has a 7" diameter and features three lively monkeys playing with balls, each with speaking scroll emanating from its mouth. An elaborate rim band consists of a series of feline head glyphs, separated by numerical signs. The interior is decorated with pseudo-glyphs around concentric circles. Intact, with strong paint, good deposits and root marks. | ||
