| A remarkable Nayarit Birthing scene, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. The sculpture is 5-1/2" long and depicts a mother in the process of giving birth. She is shown holding her head, while reclining on a pallet, with her head resting on a cushion. The baby's head is already protruding. The figure is finished with a white kaolin slip, which retains much of its reddish paint and shows good deposits. A wonderful rarity in excellent condition. | ||
