| A superb Maternal Figure from the Chancay culture of Peru, ca. 1200 - 1450 AD. She is 8" high, posed seated, cradling the baby in her arms, which are resting on the drawn-up knees. She is lavishly adorned with a fancy necklace, wide belt and facial tattoos. She also carries a nicely decorated bag, suspended by a strap around her forehead. Beautifully detailed and in exceptional condition. | ||
