| An extraordinarily rare pair of English Regency hall lanterns or “smoke bells” with the original brass fittings, exquisite wheel-cut and etched hand-blown glass with dazzling cuttings, circa 1800. PROVENANCE: This rare pair were formerly property of “Boscobel”, the elegant Federal residence of States Morris Dyckman, built during the years 1804-1808. The project was conceived and initiated by Dyckman, a Loyalist, who made his fortune working for British quartermasters during the Revolutionary War. | ||
