This is a huge and fine Japanese tripod Satsuma Koro (Incense Burner) with a seated shishi on a top of a lid and feet in a shape of beasts. The Koro is finely decorated with six shields that depicts different scenes such as cranes , grasshoppers , two ducks in the water,flowers, and gourds on fence with leaves. There are two dragons finely painted on the neck of the Koro , and one bigger dragon is on top of a lid.
The lid has six pierced smoke release holes, handles are finely decorated with symbolic ornaments.
The background of the Koro is covered with fine symbolic mons.
The Koro measures 20 inches tall by 17 3/4 inches in Diameter. It dates 19th century, Meiji, Japan.
