This is magnificent diamond shaped gosu-blue Satsuma lidded Jar on an original wood hand-carved base. The Jar has a final in a shape Bamboo trunk under snow, and symbolic floral decorations over the top and the lid. It depicts scenes of Kirin under a tree with a scroll on a back, Buddhist drum with a mon , flying Paradise birds and flowers, and fragments of fences with flowers.
The signature of the artist and shimazu cross are on the bottom.
It measures 13 3/4 inches wide and 11 inches tall (on a base) and 11.5 inches wide; 9 3/4" tall tall (off the base)
