| Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) gold lacquer silver enamel and shibayama inlaid vase. The vase is finely decorated with multiple shibayama inlays of a bird seated on Sakura on one side and floral decorations on the opposite side. The vase is mounted on silver rims with two silver bamboo-shaped handles and a silver band applied over the upper part of the vase with multiple color enamel. The top and the bottom of the vase are finely decorated with maki-e and hiromaki-e technique decorations. The vase is signed by the artist (the signature is on the bottom of the vase). There are no missing inlays, original patina. 5 3/4" tall | |||||||||||||||
