Big Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) round shape tripod Satsuma Koro (Incense Burner) with a pierced lid in a shape of butterflies and elegant handles. The body of the Koro has a very finely painted panoramic scene of a procession with women and children, a temple, houses, trees , river and mountains on the background.
The top of the Koro has a round stripe. The lid depicts six butterflies and a stripe with floral decorations. Even the bottom of the Koro is decorated with flowers and leaf designs
Three feet, handles and a knob on a lid are gilded, with almost no wear to it.
