Japanese Porcelain and Boxwood Table Screen
Rare fine museum quality Japanese Meiji Period Porcelain and carved boxwood Table Screen. Porcelain panels are very finely hand-painted with a raised golden enameling . One panel depicts a flying king-fisher, two frogs, Lotus blossoms and leaves over water and other plants, with finely painted white symbolic borders. Another panel is decorated with two birds, bushes and wide decorative borders. The wood carving is also magnificent is made wit traditional Japanese decorations. Panels are in excellent condition with no losses. The wood parts have age patina and original brass patinated hinges. It is 13 1/4" tall x 19 1/2" wide.
