Large museum quality Japanese Meiji Period tripod Porcelain lidded Koro signed by an artist. It is attributed to Kawamoto Masukichi. Koro has relieved decorations on handles, a stripe, relieved feet, and Chrysanthemum-shaped lower part of the Koro.
It has four round shields, two with Paradise birds and two with cabins; there are multiple indescribable gold decorations over blue red, pink and light green enamel. The lid has pierced decorations in a shape of clouds and a seated figure of immortal with a peach in his hand. The inside of a lid has a signature of the artist.
Koro is 16 1/2" tall x 14" wide.
